30 Blogs in 30 Days - Challenge Accepted!

30 Blogs in 30 Days

As I mentioned in an earlier blog, for the last 30 days I have been participating in an Activerain 30-in-30 Blog Challenge arranged by Chris Ann Cleland.  Today is day thirty (for me), so I wanted to write something about the challenge and my experience.

First off I want to thank Chris Ann and Kerrie (Activerain) for the opportunity and support!  I also appreciate the exception to allow me to start on November 7th as I had not seen the blog post in time for the official start, thank you!

Prior to this challenge I had written about two dozen blogs.  I like to write, but it is sometimes hard to find the time and/or the material for what to write about.  So, this was the first challenge… what to write about.  One of the suggestions by Chris Ann during the contest was to write out topics in advance so you don’t have to spend a lot of time thinking about a new topic each day.  This certainly helped.

Something else I learned along the way was to write “chapters” or “series” on a topics, such as in my case, photography and virtual tours.  My first blog titled “Do Pictures Sell Houses?”  This topic would allow me to follow-up with several more blogs such as “What Do Your Pictures Say About YOU?” and “You’ve Got Pictures – Now What?”

I enjoy reading motivational books and would even enjoy the opportunity to become a motivational speaker someday.  I have had the opportunity to speak in front of semi-large groups before (up to 300) and even appeared on QVC twice (that’s another story).

So, after some miscellaneous topics on QR Codes, The Slight Edge and a Scandinavian Thanksgiving Dinner, my next series was a book review, chapter by chapter on “Think and Grow Rich”.  I just wrote a review on chapter four yesterday so I will continue on this series probably into January.

So, what did I learn?

  1. I actually looked forward to writing my daily blog (most of the time).
  2. Develop a series of topics that you can write small amounts on over several blogs.
  3. Share your ideas, reviews on books, major events, ideas, tips/tricks, etc.  You may be helping someone else.
  4. I always try to write from the perspective of “What can I share, say or write about that will help or benefit my readers?”
  5. Include pictures when you can for added interest.
  6. Post as a Draft first, review it and then post as Public when you are done.
  7. I have received many comments and have truly enjoyed and appreciated every comment!  It feels good to get comments and I am going to try and do the same in return!
  8. Thank you to everyone who has or is reading my posts and I especially appreciate and thank everyone who made comments, they are always greatly appreciated.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season to All

WTG from the peanut gallery too. I am sure we will be seeing a lot of your post. Gotta do one on QVC, my aunt almost lost her house due to those folks now they don't even have a TV.
