Farewell to a Great Man…
I mentioned in a blog the other day that Zig Ziglar was one of my father’s favorite mentors and motivational writer/speakers. We lost Stephen Covey earlier this year, and now Zig Ziglar has passed away at the age of 86 in Plano, Texas. These are truly two of the greatest motivational speakers and writers of all time! Unfortunately, I never had the pleasure of meeting or hearing either one speak in person.
Here are my top 5 favorite quotes from Zig:
- Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your
- Building a better you is the first step to building a better
- Expect the best. Prepare for the worst. Capitalize on
- Remember that failure is an event, not a person.
- Rich people have small TVs and big libraries, and
poor people have small libraries and big TVs.
If you want to change the world, if you want to make your business more profitable, or if you want to spread your message farther… it starts with improving yourself. That was Zig's message.
By the way, you may wonder why his first and last name is almost identical. Well, the truth is, his given name is Hilary Hinton Ziglar. It was only after so many people started calling him Zig, that he started to call himself Zig, and as they say, the rest is history!
Thank you Zig for all you have given back to the world, to my father and to me and all others who are on a path to success. Say "Hi" to my Dad when you see him. Rest in peace…
